How does iTrack differ from other pipetting tracking devices on the market?
iTrack is the only pipetting tracking device that can detect actual pipetting locations and record them automatically. It greatly simplifies the work flow and makes it much more useful. All other pipetting tracking devices have to know the pipetting sequence in advance, and require users to press an advance button manually after every pipetting step. The manual button diminishes the value of a tracking device - Often times users need to ask themselves: "Have I pressed the button?"I need to transfer samples from one microplate to the other. How can I use iTrack for that?
You can use two iTrack units side by side for plate to plate transfer. They offer far more flexibility than two-plate tracking devices. For example, you can do 384-well to 96-well plate, or strip tubes to microplate transfer. What kinds of tubes and plates are compatible with iTrack?
Most standard microplates and strip tubes are compatible, including PCR plates and ELISA plates. However, 384-well plates higher than 11 mm or 96-well plates higher than 23.5 mm will block the optical sensors therefore are not compatible with iTrack. If you want to use deep well microplates, please measure the overall height of the plates before ordering iTrack. Why are adapters needed?
There are two purposes of the adapters:
- Secure plates in place so that they don't move during pipetting
- Adjust the height of the plates to be just below the optical sensing layer. The pipetting location detection is more accurate when the top surface of the plate is closer to the sensing layer (but not blocking it).
Can I use adjustable space multi-channel pipettes with iTrack?
iTrack can only work with fixed space multi-channel pipettes at this time. Please let us know if you wish to have it compatible with adjustable space pipettes. Why do I need to select pipette type (single-, 8-, or 12-channel)? Can iTrack detect it?
iTrack has the ability to detect pipette types. However, we decided to turn off the auto detect mode at this time to improve the detection accuracy. Please let us know if auto detection of pipette type is important to you.Why doesn't the touch screen feel smooth?
The touch screen comes with a protective film, which could be hard to see. It protects the tablet from spills and scratches. If you prefer a more smooth touch experience, carefully peel off the protective film from the corner. Is iTrack protected by patents?iTrack uses proprietary technology that is protected by intellectual property laws. Multiple patent applications are pending in North America, Europe, and Asia. Anyone who is interested in licensing the technology or OEM the product needs to contact us directly (email@example.com).
